The North End Development Partners was founded in 1992 as the North Tryon Area Coalition, Inc. Boundaries for the organization include 11th street to Eastway Drive and surrounding areas along the corridor. The purpose of the organization was to serve as an advocate for the improvement and redevelopment of the area. Later, the organization became the Tryon North Development Corporation before adopting the name of North End Partners, Inc.
